Union Glashütte completes the collection 1893, which reminds of the founding year of the "Uhrenfabrik Union Glashütte", an attractive watch duo with a small second. The ladies' model with a diameter of 34 millimeters is in no way inferior to the 41 millimeter measuring mens variant in terms of equipment and workmanship. And thanks to their timeless, classic design, these are watches with which one likes to spend the time - or even a covenant for life.
A small second at 6 o'clock ensures that these watches look anything but dull despite their simple elegance. Loving details, such as the white enamel-lacquered dial with the curved Arabic numerals emphasize the value. The traditional character is underlined by a railway track that is repeated on the Little Second. This is slightly deeper than the main dial, resulting in a relief-like effect. It results from the elaborate manufacture of the dial, which is manufactured in two layers, and is clearly recognizable by the sapphire crystal, which is antireflection coated on both sides.
A polished bezel with gently curved stainless steel strap and a black leather strap with crocodile embellish the elegant exterior. There is a counterpart in the high-quality interior decorations of the watches, but here also equality is important: in both men's and ladies' models, a carefully crafted and finely decorated automatic movement, whose magic can be discovered by screwed sapphire glass floors. The ladies watch is equipped with the mechanical movement U 2895-2 and the men's watch with the work U 2899-0Z6.
Both versions of the 1893 Small Second are alternatively available with black dial and brown leather strap. The recommended retail price is 1,780.00 Euro.
